Why do I still film? One might quip that, compared to a photographer, a filmmaker simply lacks the patience and decisiveness to focus on that one image, that one shot. So he just churns out 60 frames a second – technology makes it possible. No, it’s not that simple. That unexpected and surprising moment when history comes to life, when something magnificent happens on stage, when the moment becomes a wonderful eternity – that’s what I capture on video. And in the post-production, with good editing, beautiful sounds and artificia touch, it even becomes videography. At the same time, my film work has led to many new encounters and projects with wonderful and creative people. I think that’s pretty brilliant.
